Set your WordPress Permalink structure
Permalink is another name for the URL of your website.
when you install a fresh WordPress on your website, by default it’s set to plain.
Which looks something like this:
so as you can see that the Permalink doesn’t look clean, instead, it contains some numbers and characters in the URL.
So we have to make it look simple and easy.
So for doing that head over to settings > Permalinks
After that change Permalink from Plain to post name.
After that your websites URL will look something like this:
So this version of URL looks better and attractive as compared to the plain one.
So change it Immediately after installing WordPress.
Update ping services
Ping services help a website Post or a page to be indexed immediately after it’s published.
It notifies all the services that you add, whenever you publish new content.
So to update ping services follow the below steps carefully.
Head over to settings > writing, scroll down and find Update services
And in the box below, Paste the following links:
Copy and paste all the links on your update services tab, and Updating ping services will be done.
Change Your WordPress Title, tagline, https, Update password
After you install Fresh WordPress on your website, WordPress automatically adds the default Title and tagline for your website.
Title: Your website name
Tagline: Just another WordPress website
So this just doesn’t look and sound good.
Change it to something you like.
To change these setting head over to settings > general
and change the below-mentioned things if you want.
- Your Title, Tagline
- Your WordPress address, site address, if your website has an SSL certificate change it to https:// at the beginning of both URLs
- Administrator email
- Date format, time format
Update your WordPress user profile
User profiles are a very essential thing on the WordPress website.
You can fill in your about the author section, your Social profiles URLs, you can also update your passwords there.
